Synopsis: The suspense horror film “Greenwood Calamity 青木劫” is adapted from a real eerie legend of the Republic of China era. In the early years of the Republic of China, the Kang family, salt merchants in Huai Town, were brutally massacred overnight. Only the young daughter Kang Zitong witnessed the tragedy before vanishing mysteriously.Years later, ghostly hauntings and strange rumors persist around the deserted residence in Greenwood Lane. Army officer Song Shaotang, Kang Zitong who lives under an alias as a teacher, illegitimate son Cheng You’an, tycoon Zheng Hongbin and others gather over the old Kang family murder case, each with ulterior motives: some seek revenge, some hide crimes, and some covet wealth.As the investigation unfolds, successive twists reveal the truth. The massacre was actually a conspiracy driven by greed for money, and the culprit lurks among them. Having lain low for years, Zitong has bided her time solely for revenge. In the end, the villains get their just deserts, and the whole truth comes to light.
